Happy Monday everyone! Today marks the final day of the 2nd Annual Great Computer Spring Clean-a-thon which means it’s time to share the progress you’ve made this week!
As a refresher, here were the goals I set for the 2012 Computer Spring Clean-a-thon:
1) Clean out my Downloads, Documents and Current Projects folders. I set these up last year and have mostly kept them updated so they should only need a little work.
2) Reorganize my NettioDesigns folder. This folder is a hot mess right now. And not in a template-y goodness kind of way.
3) Get started organizing my photos in Aperture. This is a major major task and definitely not one I will complete this week but I am going to get started on it and see what I can get done. Started is better than nothing, right?
When I last updated you on my progress, I had completed the first 2 of my 3 Clean-a-thon goals, as well as a little extra credit digiscrap supplies purging.
So how did the rest of my week go?
Well…as much as it pains me to say it, I’m afraid I never did get to tackle goal number 3.
Because despite my best intentions, the universe had different plans for me and decided instead of spending my evenings happily purging photos while I watched my favorite reality TV shows, I should spend the week wallowing in my misery sick with the flu. Oh and just to add to the fun, I should wake up at 4am Wednesday morning with intense ear pain requiring a trip to urgent care and a round of antibiotics.
Believe me, I would have much rather been organizing photos.
But despite my initial disappointment, I’ve realized it’s ok.
Because while I would have loved to come in here today with a big splashy photo-tastic update, the reality is that’s not what the Great Computer Spring Clean-a-thon is about.
The goal of the Computer Spring Clean-a-thon is to kickstart your organizing progress, get you excited about organizing again and maybe even help you think about organizing in a different way.
And I definitely feel like I’ve done that.
So while I may not have tackled everything I hoped this week, I’m still feeling good about my progress. For the first time in a long time I’m feeling excited about the prospect of organizing photos and I’m ready to move forward and keep working on my goals. And that IS what this week is all about.
So how about you? How did your Computer Spring Clean-a-thon week go? Did you make the progress you hoped? Did you run into any unexpected roadblocks?
I’d love to hear about the progress (or lack of progress) you’ve made this week!

I didn’t make nearly the progress I had hoped. To be honest I just didn’t have much time at home, but I still thought I would get more done. I got my desktop cleared, but I still have a September wallpaper 🙂 I did get my in-box purged as well. And the time & computer hog – I’m about 50% complete with uploading all of my 2011 pictures to Picasa. It’s uploading the full resolution file so it has taken 3 days to do 10gb! At the end of the day, if my computer crashed this would be the thing I was the most upset to lose so I’m happy to have this push. I can’t believe I didn’t upload at all for the whole year!

LOL, I stopped using any desktop wallpapers with dates because I never change them out, haha. That’s still some awesome progress though! Way to go!

Well, like you, I’ve got started, but not nearly as much as I would like. My sister was in town, so I was with her and her kids entire weekend. I guess, at least I had a better reason than you did. Hope you’re feeling better now!
I do plan to delete bad photos and start the adding keywords to the photos. I do tag my digi stash minimum 5-10 minutes everyday, so I’m good with that part. I also clean out my Download folder as soon as the kit is downloaded. I miss the part about selecting the folder to download my kits when I moved to Mac from PC. So, I move the kit as soon as I can.

Yeah, I slept pretty much all day Friday and that finally got me on the mend. Guess my mom was right when she said I needed to rest or else I wouldn’t get better, haha.
You’ve made some great progress though! I still need to get all my photos added into Aperture and then I plan to start deleting and key wording too. Deleting probably needs to be the priority as boring as it is, haha, since I need to free up space on my machine.

Well, I got to purge 40GB from my computer lappie, and then an additional 40GB from my scrapping stash, YAY! But I stalled on organizing my layouts because of an unexpected–but welcome–load of work that needed to be done! I KNOW though that I will get to fixing up my layouts for printing. I’ve been looking at printed book samples and loving that they take so little space on a shelf, and I want that! I’m also going to invest in another EHD for my photos, which will free up my current EHD solely for scrapping supplies and layouts. 😀
So all in all, this week was good in laying the groundwork for some serious organizing, and I love that I got to do that! 😀 Thanks, Lynnette!

I did well. I did everything on my list except do a back up. I plan on still doing it though, so maybe even tonight I get it done. 🙂

Ooo, way to go! Yay for clearing off the list!

Woo Hoo!!! Just reclaimed 212 GB!!!! Just had to come back and tell you! That’s just from deleting the iPhoto directory! 🙂 Now, off to delete bad/duplicate photos!

Wow, that’s awesome! Crazy iPhoto!
