Oh how I love a good cheesy pun, haha.
Happy May 1st everyone and welcome to my stop on the Everyday Storyteller Blog Hop! If this is your first time stopping by my digi slice of the web, let me take a moment to say hello & welcome!
I’m Lynnette aka Nettio of Nettio Designs and I’m a child-free, tech-lovin’ digital scrapbooker/designer who has a passion for bold colors & patterns, clean designs and modern storytelling. Here at Nettio Designs I write about my adventures (and misadventures) in design and share tips, tricks and digital scrapbooking templates designed to inspire you to embrace your scrapbooking awesomeness. So glad to have you here!
If you’re one of my regular readers who hasn’t heard about Everyday Storyteller yet, Everyday Storyteller is a digital idea book releasing this Friday, May 4th. The book, the brainchild of the talented Jennifer Wilson of Simple Scrapper.com, features 33 practical ideas from real world scrapbookers and includes all kinds of tips from photography to storytelling and everything in-between.
In preparation for the big launch this weekend, all of the contributors of the book are participating today, May 1st in a blog hop where they’ll be sharing a tip or trick that ties into their contribution from the book. It’s like a mini sneak peek!
My stop on the Everyday Storyteller blog hop is a bit different from everyone else as unlike most of the participants, I am not actually a contributor to the book. Instead I’m the graphic designer mastermind who’s been working furiously behind the scenes to make sure all the awesome tips & tricks from our contributors are dressed up in their Sunday best and looking as awesome as possible.
Which lucky for you also means I’ve had a front row seat to all the action as the book has come together, so I thought rather than sharing an everyday storytelling-related tip or trick, I’d offer you a little sneak peek into the design of the book.
Think you can handle it? Because this peek just might blow your mind with it’s clean design goodness.
Ready?
Ok, here ya go…
I know, I can hear the oohs and awes already.
Ok, to be fair, it’s not much of a peek. But I can’t have the boss lady getting mad at me for giving away the surprise!
But what I can tell you is this book is seriously AMAZING. Jennifer and the team have outdone themselves and this is definitely NOT something you’re going to want to miss out on.
So if you haven’t signed up yet, make sure you hop on over to the Everyday Storyteller website and get yourself signed up for the V.I.P. list ASAP. The big launch party reveal is happening Friday night and from what I hear, there’s going to be prizes involved!
***GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED***
Speaking of prizes, as part of my stop on the blog hop, I’m giving away 1 copy of Everyday Storyteller to one lucky Nettio Designs reader. So if you want a chance to win, just leave a comment in the comments section of this blog post answering this question:

Stefanie says
I want to be awesome at being authentic, that when my children or family read my words, they hear my voice and the way I speak, telling the stories and remaking history – as the historian that’s my right. It should be like I am there sharing the facts, the snippets that need to be shared.
Stephanie (schock77) says
What do I want to be awesome at? Everything! I want to take better pictures to help illustrate my everyday life. I want to do a better job at designing layouts to be visually appealing and not overwhelming the photos. And finally and perhaps the most important- journaling! I want to be able to tell my story long after I’m gone- and have stories for my children to remember, continue and pass on. 🙂
Kristin S. says
I want to be awesome at…………..journaling. Journaling has always been very difficult for me. I try very hard to work at it, but I am never satisfied with what I write.
Erika says
I want to be AWESOME at conveying stories on my layouts the way I would actually tell them if I was talking! I want to make beautiful pages that tell a story even if they only have a few words on them.
Jacque says
I don’t know that my goal has ever been to be Awesome…I just want to be moving in the right direction. In most aspects of my life I want to get to be a little better each day. Perhaps in the end it will equal awesome…for now it is just directionally correct!
Natascha says
What do I want to be awesome at? I would love to be awesome at telling my everyday stories in English. My journaling is always in Dutch!! And wrinting is English is not a problem at all, but when it comes to journaling, ohh boy hihi 🙂
Thank for a chance Lynnette!!
Brie says
I want to be awesome at everything, of course, but most important to me, even more than the memory or story, I want my girls to be able to see the love that I have for them through these layouts – I hope someday when they’re older, they’ll be able to see the los I make and see all the love I have for them, through the stories and photographs and memories I’m preserving for them 🙂
Aveziur says
AWESOME? For my family, my work and especially for myself in everything I do and say. While being realistic, I do things right and that I have around me are happy, that’s enough. I feel awesome with just a smile and a thank you to complete a job.
Shari says
I struggle with putting my thoughts into written words. The process always turns out to be so wordy and I lose focus on the main idea. I would love to be able to journal with ease. Simple but the point is made.
Valorie Brown says
I just hope to be awesome at conveying the memory. To have my children and loved ones read and see the layout and KNOW how I felt at the time of the memory as well as how the subject felt. I want the viewer to see what I see. KWIM? TY for the chance!
Kimberlee says

I want to be awesome at getting more of my stories down as soon as they happen, so that I always have a repository of them to scrap! A lot of my pages now are like journal entries, and I love that I can design pages with my thoughts and emotions. Being timely in my memory-keeping (either online or by paper) will go a long way in making me a better scrapbooker and storyteller 🙂

Passion….I want to relay my passion for my family, for the events I scrap and the impact those lasting memories can have through the generations that will look at my pages and feel the love and passion that I put into recording moments in our families history.
