Happy Saturday everyone! Welcome to my second Sweet Shoppe Saturday release! I promise I won’t be counting down every single Saturday release but I’m still just so excited to be able to say it!

This week I’m releasing an updated version of one of my absolute favorite lines of templates – my Photo Book Frenzy & Week In the Life digital scrapbooking photo book templates!

Photo Book Frenzy Templates

These layered digital scrapbooking templates were inspired by my popular 2011 Week In the Life photo book and as the 2012 version of Week In the Life is coming up later this month (April 23rd – 29th), now seemed like the perfect time to bring them over to the Sweet Shoppe!

The Photo Book Frenzy templates come in two different photo book friendly sizes: 8×10 or a more traditional 12×12 – and are designed to make it super quick and easy to for you to create your own photo book or album in an afternoon.

The clean and graphic style photo-friendly templates are perfect for any photo-friendly topic: A Week In the Life, wedding albums, travel albums and so much more!

A 1st Quarter Update On My 2012 Scrapbooking Resolutions

Well, it’s official. We’re one quarter of the way done with 2012. Have you made a quarters worth of progress on your 2012 goals? Yeah, that’s what I thought – me either.

To be fair, I didn’t technically set new goals at the start of the year as I’m still working on my Scrap-i-versary and Birthday goals from last April & May. (Which by working on I mean, largely ignoring before realizing it is, uh, in fact now April and I need to get a move on.)

But I did write out a list of “wants” I wanted to focus on with my scrapbooking for this year, so now seems like a good time to reflect on how things have gone so far.

Here was my list:

I WANT…to trade the busy in favor of the meaningful.

Busy? Yes. Meaningful? I’m not sure.

To tell you the truth, I’m at a bit of an odd place in my scrapbooking right now – a place where I’m not totally sure I’m in touch with what exactly “meaningful” means to me anymore.

In a way I’d say it’s the fallout of too much focus on busy scrapbooking the last couple of years. Once the busy-ness is stripped away, I’m not sure I know what I want to fill it with now. But I’m excited to dig into this idea more this year and really focus on finding out what meaningful means to me.

I WANT…to push my creativity to the next level.

Design and creativity are two of my favorite aspects of scrapbooking so for me this one was easy. I’ve definitely  been pushing myself more this year and I’d say I’m happier with my layouts now than I was at the end of last year. Am definitely excited to continuing playing and exploring this year.

I WANT…to stop allowing disorganization to limit my creativity and storytelling.

Of all the items on my wants list, this one is still the biggest issue, and unfortunately, the one I’ve made the least amount of progress on.

The 2nd Annual Great Computer Spring Clean-a-thon was a good start but what I really need is to make some MAJOR progress on my photo organization. I can’t be inspired by my photos if I don’t ever actually look at them in a creative and meaningful way.

Look for lots of action on this one in the next few months.

I WANT…to make time to scrap just for me.

In the last 3 months I did manage to make this happen. Once. For my 30 Days of Lists mini album.

But I know in order for this to happen more, I need to: a) commit to scrapbooking-only (non-designing/blogging) time and b) know what scrapbooking for me means, which again ties into the whole “what is meaningful to me” question from Want #1.

I WANT…to tell the stories that matter most to me.

Well that’s my first quarter update on my 2012 scrapbooking resolutions. I wouldn’t say I’m off to a running start but I have started and that’s what matters.

Well, it’s official. We’re one quarter of the way done with 2012. Only nine short months before the end of world, folks, are you ready?

I’ll be back later this week with an update on my 2012 Scrapbooking Resolutions  but in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite layouts I’ve done so far this year.

To be fair, it wasn’t really that hard to decide considering I’ve only digital scrapbooked a whopping 15 pages so far this year which I know, I know, most of you do that many layouts in your sleep. But hey, it’s been a busy year so far! And surprisingly that number actually puts me two layouts ahead of where I was at this time last year. That my friends, is progress.

To kick things off I’m starting with the first layout I did this year, my One Little Word layout for 2012.

One Little Word 2012

I never really think to do photo-free layouts but every time I do them, I end up loving them. I especially love how the talk bubble cutouts came out on this one – I just want to reach out and touch them.

2012 Goals

I’m pretty sure I could do clean, blocked designs like this for the rest of my scrapbooking life and be perfectly happy. I just love the clean lines and all the little homes for the elements. Plus this kit is pretty much a combination of my favorite colors in the whole world which is why my outfit ended up perfectly matching despite being completely unplanned.

Aww, repeating shapes, how I love thee. The shapes on this page were actually inspired by a design I saw on Pinterest – I love that they’re geometric but still a little wonky. And of course, a Chicago layout (with photos of the Bean, no less) is always a good time because it means I got to hang out with my sis who’s a grad student there.

Life is an Adventure

I can’t remember where the inspiration for this layout came from but this was one of those pages that just flowed. Like you come up with the idea and wham, what feels like seconds later, you’ve got an awesome layout you love. That doesn’t happen to me all that often so when it does I’m always amazed. But I love how bold and colorful it is and the cutout title of my life motto is one of my fave trends of the moment.

You & Me

This layout is actually a redesign of another older less-loved layout of mine (more on that another day) but I LOVE how it turned out this time. Zoe’s kits always rock my socks and this one was no exception. I would so wallpaper my house in those yellow chevrons if I could. Plus the elements in this kit were to die for – it was so fun to just layer and play.

Which means I’ve got not 1, not 2, but 8! products releasing over the course of this weekend. Excited yet?

Petit Four Friday

The weekend event kicks off today with six new Petit Four collaborations being released into the Sweet Shoppe.
